Unemployment Hearing?

I was approved for UI benefits about one month & half ago and now my former employer is contesting my eligibility. I took an authorized leave of absence and was assured that my job will be waiting for me when I return. When I returned I received a e-mail from my boss stating that due to massive layoffs within the company my job was no longer available and that's when I decided to file for unemployment and they are now contesting it. Do I have a strong chance of winning my appeal hearing?
