When was the Silicon Valley, California, dot com bust?

I am trying to find out when the dot com bust was in the Silicon Valley. I found on some sites that it was from 1995 to 2000 and was hoping someone could either verify this or dispute it please. I know that we are currently in a recession now, and am not wondering about that, just when the first waves of layoffs happened in the mid 1990's. Thanks for any help!
